“Man this shit’s good,” I think were the words that came out of Joel’s mouth. And he was right…it was good. Shit was reallllll good. You all know how I like my ground turkey. And buffalo sauce. Why not mix the two? It was a beautiful day and we wanted to grill so I did what I do best: searched Pinterest.
I found a buffalo turkey burger recipe and kind of created my own from that.
-1/4 cup hot sauce (Frank’s)
-1 tsp garlic powder
-1 tsp sea salt
-Dash of chili powder
-Dash of red pepper flakes
-2 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk
-1 1/4 lb ground turkey
-1/2 c. bread crumbs (I used Ezekiel Flax)
-3 Tbsp fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
-Wheat buns (we used the Ezekiel Flax again)
-Lettuce, tomato, avocado
1. In a large bowl, combine hot sauce, garlic, salt, chili powder, red pepper flakes, and almond milk. Add ground turkey and bread crumbs and stir well. Gently mix in mozzarella cheese.
2. Divide meat into 6 balls and shape into patties.
3. Grill until brown and cooked through (about 8 minutes each side). Add sliced cheese if desired
4. Add toppings and condiments and enjoy that damn good, healthy burger.
